Shelbyville’s newest business is Daryl’s Gaming and Bistro, LLC. The business is right on the square in Shelbyville, at 248 E. Main.
 
If you are hungry, Daryl is ready to serve you a delicious brick oven pizza, a burger made of Black Angus beef, pork chops, Philly sandwiches, cold subs, and wraps. They also have soft drinks, beer and liquor if you want to have a drink with your meal.
When a customer walks into this restaurant, they might be surprised by the size of the establishment. There are two separate dining areas with enough tables and chairs to seat over 40 customers. The tables are unique because Daryl’s girlfriend, Missy Parks, has found historic newspaper clippings and pictures of Shelbyville and displayed them on the table tops. While diners are at their seats, they can read some of the old ads and see some of the newspaper articles of years gone by.
 
Another conversation starter might be the old phone booth found on the east wall of the second serving area, close to the kitchen. Young people will be able to see what older people used before cell phones. There are also colorful, nostalgic murals on the walls in the dining areas that brighten the walls and initiate conversation.
 
Daryl’s Gaming and Bistro offers eat-in or to-go options. Soon they will offer a delivery service for certain hours of the day or evening. The hours of operation, once he gets the gaming machines, will be 9 am to midnight, Monday through Thursday; 9 am to 1 pm Friday and Saturday; and on Sunday, 10:30 am to 10 pm (no alcohol; served before noon). Kitchen hours are as follows: Monday through Thursday, 10:30 am to 8 pm; Friday and Saturday, 10:30 am to 10 pm, and Sunday, from 10:30 am to 8 pm.

The man behind the Gaming & Bistro

He lives in Shelbyville and started out in business 17 years ago. His first attempt at owning a small business was as a concessionaire.

He still has his lemonade food concession truck which he takes to many area festivals and events, but that is not all! Daryl has owned several brick and mortar business sites including a tanning salon that was located on East Main in downtown Shelbyville.

He closed that business 11 years ago and went on to open Muck’s Place, situated in Pana, and has operated there for the last 8 years. His third business is the Westfield Pub, LLC in Casey, IL.

The Westfield Pub was established in 2022 and continues today. March 3rd was the soft opening for his latest venture, Daryl’s Gaming and Bistro, in Shelbyville.
