We bought a tree from Allie last season, and it was so healthy that it attracted its own lodger. A beautiful Robin, so we decided to leave the tree until our resident had finished rearing her young.
Whenever anyone approached the tree the bird would detonate and start squawking and making a fuss ruffling her feathers in the process. Needless to say, we ended up calling her Ruffles.
She had her 3 chicks, they all grew and flew off. Soon after, Allie brought “the Ruffles tree” to us which was planted in our yard to take pride of place. This season it attracted another Robin to build yet another nest…
